Paintings by James Donnelly, Armory Gallery Sept. 3- Sept. 20, 2002 (in association with the Mountain Lake Workshop)
The Armory Art Gallery in cooperation with the Mountain Lake Workshop of the Virginia Tech Foundation will organize an exhibition and related art workshop entitled: "Skins of Ourselves", by painter James Donnelly, an emerging young artist, from Edinburgh, Scotland. This will be James Donnelly's first exhibition and public art workshop in the United States.

"Skins of Ourselves": August 28- September 3, 2002
James Donnelly will visit Blacksburg for a period of 9 days (Aug. 27-sept. 4) and will participate in a series of scheduled events preparatory to his exhibition, including a Mountain Lake Workshop (Aug. 28- Sept. 3) that will create specific elements of the installation of his exhibition as well as lead area students and community members of all ages in painting experiences based in creative self-portraiture and personal identification with flora and fauna in nature.
Directed by visiting artist James Donnelly from Edinburgh, Scotland. Co-organized by Mountain Lake Workshop director, Ray Kass (Dept. of Art and Art History and Mountain Lake Workshop Project Coordinator), and Francis Thompson (assistant, Arts Administration Graduate Program, School of the Arts, Virginia Tech)
